Dr. Robert "Bob" GilkersonDr. Bob Gilkerson, retired dentist, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the age of 75 years. The son of Bill and Mary (Loafman) Gilkerson, Bob was born on March 16, 1941 in Clinton, Missouri. He received his doctorate degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City Dental School. His dental practice was mostly in the Springfield area. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Stillwater. Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force and had earned his 4th Degree Black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He was united in marriage to Marian Shiever on January 2, 2010.He is survived by his wife Marian as well as his children, Robert "Robby" Gilkerson and Dr. Jill Gilkerson of Boulder, Colorado; Marian's children, Stephen Shiever of Alva, Oklahoma, Matt Shiever of Olatha, Kansas, and Mitch Shiever of Edmond, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Marjorie Newman of Stillwater, Oklahoma, and other relatives and friends, including Dr. Bob Melton and his wife Kathy, whom he considered family.A memorial service will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church, 504 South Knoblock, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church building fund in Stillwater; the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Cushing or the Cushing American Legion. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, November 17, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.davisfh.net.
