Robert E. Babbitt, 83, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019, in the comfort of his home. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2019, from 2 until 4 p.m. Private funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. Casket bearers will be his sons and grandsons. A time of food and fellowship will be held following services at First Christian Church. Burial will take place in Conesville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Mike Fry.

Robert was born on August 6, 1935, in Muscatine, the only son of Roger and Elaine Babbitt. He was a graduate of Muscatine High School. He married Audrey Babbitt on August 16, 1975.

He was a very family oriented and hard working man. He enjoyed baseball, particularly the St. Louis Cardinals. When he wasn't watching baseball he enjoyed spending time with family and gardening. He loved the outdoors. 

Those left to honor his memories include four sons, Mike Fry of Mt. Pleasant, Scott McDaniel and wife, Melissa, of Wapello, Steve Lamoreux of Moscow, and Robert D. Babbitt and wife, Lisa, of Muscatine; three daughters, Linda Cambridge and husband, Jim, of Muscatine, Terri Zane and husband, John, of Kewanee, Illinois, and Christine Ralls of Ely; he has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson and two great great-granddaughters.

Robert was proceded in death by his parents and wife, Audrey Babbitt.
