December 25th, 1929 ~ March 7th, 2017It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob on March 7, 2017. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Marilyn of 62 years, his daughter Joy (Ed) and son James (Christine). Bob was the proud and loving grandfather to Andrea (Ray), Mark (Sabrina), Christie (Dejan) and Michael. He leaves behind his sister Catherine (James Scaverelli), brother-in-law Don (Alice) Mackay as well as several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents Henry and Ann Colosimo, sisters Mary Santarossa, Lucy Zuliani and Laura Colosimo. Bob was born on Christmas Day 1929 in Thunder Bay, Ont. He began working in Thunder Bay for CP Rail at the age of 15. He was transferred to North Bay in 1956, Toronto in 1957 and Montreal in 1959. He had a long and successful career holding many positions culminating in his appointment, in 1981, as Vice-President Industrial Relations with his retirement January 1, 1993. During his career in Labor Relations, Bob served on many associations Labor/ Mgmt committees, including Conference Board of Canada, Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Canada Labor/Management Productivity Centre, the Canadian Employment and Immigration Advisory Board, The North American Railroad Association. On retiring he took up residence in Whitby to be near his children and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Parish in Oshawa. Since retiring, Bob and Marilyn spent many years in Stuart, FL, making many friends. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and served as Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Association, St. Joseph's Conference. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West on Tuesday March 14th from 2 4 and 7 9 p.m. Prayers will be held at the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. GREGORY THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH (194 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa) on Wednesday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
