On February 26, 2014 Robert Boemer died at the age of 95. Robert (Bob) Herman Boemer was born on December 11, 1918 in St. Paul, MN. He was the third son of John and Nellie Boemer. He went to join Margaret Boemer (1914-2010), his wife of 63 joyful years.Bob was preceded in death by his father, his mother, his two older brothers and his son, John Timothy Boemer. He is survived by his three daughters, Susan Boemer, Nancy Ford (Husband Don) and Judy Boemer; grandsons Robert Phillips, Michael Phillips and Jeron Boemer; granddaughters Briana and Kaylee; and six great grandchildren.Bob was very active in the Yuma community since founding his business, Sun Valley Beverage in 1954. He was instrumental in promoting economic growth in Yuma for almost 60 years. His business provided employment for hundreds of local citizens and he had the admiration of the entire community.Bob was a veteran of
WWII as a Lieutenant in the Army. He was stationed in Italy toward the end of WWII and was acting mayor of Pergine, a small town in northern Italy.The family is planning a private ceremony and celebration of his life. In memory of Bob, the family wishes that those who want to honor him do so by donating to the Arizona's Children Association, 711 E Missouri, Suite 200, Phoenix, AZ, 85014, an organization actively supported by Sun Valley Beverage and John Boemer for many years.
