Robert "Bob" BarteltDes MoinesRobert (Bob) Dean Bartelt, 83, passed away on December 19, 2016. Bob was born on November 17, 1933 in Saylor Township to Harold and Marie Bartelt. He graduated from Granger High School. Bob married Ruth Anna Shafer on June 1, 1957.After a long career in the paper industry, Bob retired in 1994. Following his retirement he worked at several local golf courses until the summer of 2012. Bob enjoyed spending time outside working in the yard, mowing and gardening. He also loved John Deere Tractors.Bob is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Leslie Berry of Ankeny; sons, Michael of Ankeny and Kelly of Bondurant; grandchildren, Alex (Bre Vickroy) Berry, Sean Berry, Amanda (Scott) Hoffman, Blake (Angelina Peterman) Bartelt, Walker Bartelt and Kasi Bartelt; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Emma, Tristan, Malakai and Tate. Sisters, Deloris (Lowell) Hill, Carol Bartelt and Mary (Vince) Whitcomb. Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on December 23, 2016 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
