GREEN BAY - Robert A. Bob Rodgers, age 67, of Green Bay, formerly of Spooner and Eau Claire, passed away on March 24, 2013. Bob was born on June 16, 1945 in Racine, WI to Stanley and Esther (Rasmussen) Rodgers. He graduated from Park High School in 1963. He attended the University of Eau Claire on a football scholarship, graduating in December 1967. He enlisted in the Army in June 1968 and completed Officer Candidate School. He served in Vietnam in 1970-71 as a Second Lieutenant. He finished his career in the Army Reserve, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He worked for the Department of Corrections, retiring in 1998. In 2000, he entered the Episcopalian Seminary. He worked as a Priest at St. Albans Episcopal Church in Spooner, WI and St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Springbrook, WI from 2002 to 2012. Bob married Barbara Holmquist in November 1967. Together they had two children. They later divorced. He was a former president of the Eau Claire Curling Club, and actively involved in the VFW in Springbrook, WI. Bob is survived by two daughters: Kristin (Eric) Hoover of Selinsgrove, PA, and Julie (Derek) Erickson of Green Bay, WI; five grandchildren Colton Hoover, Madelyn Hoover, Emma Erickson, Jack Erickson, and Reese Erickson; sister-in-law Mary Rodgers Chickening; niece Ann Rodgers Zetlinger and Scott Rodgers. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Rodgers. Solemn Requiem Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 10:00am Christ Church Cathedral, 510 S Farwell St Eau Claire, with The Right Rev. W. Jay Lambert and The Very Rev. Michael Greene officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday night from 4:00-8:00pm at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Pkwy, Altoona, and again one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will take place in spring in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
