Rita J. WeinbergerAGE: 95 • Toms RiverRita Joan Weinberger, 95, of Silverton, Toms River, NJ, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017. Rita was born on June 15, 1922 in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania to William and Marsella Rowland. She was raised and educated in the Wilkes Barre area of Pennsylvania. She later moved to Belleville, NJ and worked for R.C.A. and Crucible Steel Company of America. During that time, she met and married her husband, Frederick. They were married for 63 years. Rita's hobbies and interests included spending treasured times with her family and friends, involvement in St. Joseph's Rosary Alter Society, sharing her active interest and knowledge of healthy nutrition, (including those fresh and delicious down home meals and homemade fruit pies), as well as her love of nature, music, and dance. She also had a keen eye for interior decorating, design and fashion.Rita was predeceased by her husband, Frederick C. Weinberger, Sr. in 2009. She was an extremely caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Rita Ann Gant, son in law Paul, son Frederick Weinberger, Jr., daughter in law Darlene, grandchildren: Jonathan Gant and his wife Katie, Jordan Gant and his wife Nicole, Jared Weinberger and his wife Danielle and Kara Weinberger. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren: Rylee Ann Gant and Kelly Marie Gant. Rita was a sweet smiling, well-spoken lady filled with loving kindness and compassion. She will be deeply missed by her adoring family and friends.Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4PM and 6-8PM on Wednesday, August 23 at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30AM on Thursday, August 24 at St. Luke Roman Catholic Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River.
