Rita Doris Barthelemy was born to the late Remand and Lena Barthelemy, a engineer and a homemaker, in Buras, La on December 01,1957. She was immersed in the Baptist community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. She graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1979 with a degree in Nursing and accepted aposition at Charity Hospital as a Registered Nurse in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she worked for 25 years. When hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, she moved on to practice nursing at Touro Infirmary Hospital in New Orleans Louisiana.
Rita was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her best friend and fellow classmate, Lambert Robert Duncan Jr., on March 18, 1976 in Port Sulphur, La. She raised their three children Shannon Duncan- Johnson, Adrian Duncan and the late Lambert Duncan 3rd, with patience, discipline and love. She taught them to love each other and always be there for each other no matter what.
She often took themon family trips to see all of there family members that wasn\'t in New Orleans. She made every road trip memorable. Rita was an educator at heart. She was kind and loving, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how big or small they were. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
Rita is survived by her husband, Lambert Duncan Jr; her daughters Shannon Duncan Johnson and Adrian Duncan. Her sister Gloria Mack and Brother Remand Barthelemy Jr. two step daughters Christina Frazier and Karen Tilson Her two son- in-laws Kenysin Johnson Sr. Lawrence Frazier and three grand kids Damien, Kenysin Jr., and Cherish Johnson She also had five step- grandkids and a eight nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son Lambert Duncan 3rd, and her parents
