Rickey Coleman was born May 1, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois. Rickey was born second of six children to Frizell and Callie Coleman.
Rickey accepted Christ early in life and was an active participant at Ingleside Whitfield United Methodist Church. He was later baptized and became a member of the Apostolic Church of God. Rickey received his formal education at Paul Cornell elementary school, and Chicago Vocational high school. Rickey also attended Alabama State University, and Chicago State University. Rickey received countless awards, and commendations throughout his educational and working career. Rickey worked as a custodian for South Central Community Services Inc. until he made his transistion on May 19, 2020.
Rickey, was affectionately referred to as "RED" by his father because of his reddish light brown hair, and his fair complexion. If you knew Rickey, there is one thing that you had to know about him, and that was, he did things his way. He always had a smile on his face, and a song in his heart. Rickey was loved by many and his earthly presence will be thoroughly missed.
Rickey left to cherish his precious memories, his father Frizell Coleman, 3 brothers, Jackie Coleman, Zachary Coleman (Wanda), and Jerome Coleman, 1 sister Fredri Coleman, 1 nephew Stanley Coleman, 3 nieces Demetria Brown (Anthony), Rhondalynn Roberts (Kendrick), and Gabrielle' Santos Anastacio, and one great-niece Vallentyna Santos Anastacio. Rickey was preceded in death by his mother Callie Coleman and his brother Joey Coleman. Rickey also leaves his unforgettable memories with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
