Reel, Richard Wayne Richard Wayne Reel, age 70, of Buckeye, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 in Goodyear, AZ. He was born on June 20, 1947 to Wayne G. and Altha (Thorson) Reel in Sturgis, MI. Richard graduated from Arlington Heights High School. He was a Sergeant in the US Army serving as Point Man during the Vietnam Era (1968-1970). Richard received the National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star, Air Medal (1st OLC), Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and a Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle). He was a proud member of VFW Post 9400. He enjoyed working on cars, watching sports, and was active on programs for his fellow veterans. Richard is survived by his loving father, Wayne; two sisters, Diane Dunlap and Karen Eblen; significant other, Marge Bell and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Altha Marie Reel. Committal services with military honors will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 6, 2017, at National Memorial Cemetery of AZ, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix with a Celebration of Life to follow at VFW Post #9400, 804 E. Purdue Avenue, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Richard's honor may be made the or a Veteran's .
