RICHARD ALAN SMILEY, 54 MONROE, WI - Richard Alan Smiley, 54 of Monroe, WI died on Wednesday, November, 13, 2013, at his home. Richard was born on Sept. 6, 1959, in Waukegan, IL. He was happiest spending time with his children, his grandson and family members. He spent many years working beside his sons. Rick was co-owner of Smiley Interiors, passing the business on to his son, Daniel. He enjoyed boating and fishing and cooking. He found great pleasure helping others. Rick attended Lena-Winslow High School, class of 1977. Richard is survived by his wife, Tammie of Monroe, WI; three sons, Daniel Smiley and (Larissa Humphry,) Michael (Kayla) Smiley and Christopher Smiley, all of Monroe, WI; stepdaughter, Stephanie Hoover of Monroe, WI; very special grandson, Austin Smiley of Monroe, WI; Dan and Mikes mom, Jackie Calam; his parents, Alfred and Sally Packard of Lena, IL, Harold Smiley of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Daniel (Debbie) Packard and Donald (Stacy) Packard, both of Lena, IL; five sisters, Jane (Robert) Nagel of Vernon Hills, IL, Susan Simmons and (Dan Holland) of Lena, IL, Linda (Art) Diedrich of Plymouth, WI, Darlene (Gene) Eggleston of Cary, IL, and Mary (Allen) Tessendorf of Lena; many nieces and nephews that he loved also survive. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lena. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service on Sunday at the church. Rev. Rick Bader will officiate at the services. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. A memorial has been established in his memory.
