Richard Dean Cox, 75, of Yuma passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011. He was born on December 21, 1935 in Griffin, Georgia. Richard served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as a staff sergeant. He was stationed in Yuma in the 1970's. After retiring from the Marine Corps, Richard worked for many years as a maintenance supervisor for the Gold Mines in Nevada. In 2001 he retired to Yuma. Richard is survived by his wife, of 10 years, Joan (Bathrick) Cox; his daughters, Donna Huxold and Lynda Dean Cox; his son, Dustin Cox; grandchildren, Tristen Brook, Alexie Brook, Bobby (Megan) Cox, Autumn (Trent) Mackinnon, Skye Mackinnon, Candence Cox, Brinley Cox; great grandson, Bently Cox; sisters, Wendy (Dan) Hubacher, Janice (Floyd) Hendrix, Sharon(James) Cochran; brothers, Rodger David (Debra) Cox; five step Children and five step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Phylis; mother and father and five brothers, all of Georgia. We will all miss his smile, love and sense of humor.
