Richard Alan SternRichard Alan Stern, 65, of Sequim, WA. passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Port Angeles Hospital. His cause of death was Congestive Heart Failure.Dick was born on May 11, 1949 to Stanley and Genevieve Stern in Ellensburg, WA. He was raised in Ellensburg and graduated from EHS in 1967. During his years in middle and high school, he was involved in swim team and water ballet and Catholic School activities. He went to Lourdes Academy from 1956 to 1963. He served as an altar boy during his years at the Catholic Church.In 1970 he married his high school sweetheart, Elaine Marie Pautz. They had a long and happy marriage of 44 years until his death on January 31. In 1987 they adopted a beautiful baby boy that they named Jeffrey Alan, now 28.Dick worked for Puget Power and retired as a System operator after 35 years with the company.Dick was blessed to grow up in a loving family and is survived by 3 brothers, 4 cousins, 5 nieces and nephews, and 6 great-nieces and nephews. His brothers are William Stern and his wife Judy, Thomas and his wife Joan, and David and his wife Mitzi. His 3 nephews are Michael, Karl and his wife Sarah, and Adam and his wife Erin. His nieces are Jody and her husband Rick Rochelle, and Rachael and husband Paul Tuhy. Great-nieces are Kaitlyn and Meaghan (from Rick and Jody Rochelle), Great-nephews are Trevor and Emily (from Michael and ex-wife Jenny), Jakob and Luke (from Karl and Sarah) and Jak and Liam (from Adam and Erin). His cousins are Janet and Darrell Eason of Ellensburg and their children Brett and Kirt, Jim Matheson and Doug Matheson (now deceased) of Sunnyside. Also Jack and Sandy Jackson of Duvall, Wa and their children, Jaime and Julia.
