DORSEYRhea Ellen Dorsey, 76, died of pancreatic cancer on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Cincinnati Hospice after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Ellen was born on January 8, 1941, in Marion, IN. She attended Norwood Elementary and High Schools. Ellen earned a B.S. in mathematics and physical education from University of Cincinnati in 1960 and a M.Ed. from Xavier University in 1981. In 1962 she married Richard H. Dorsey and together they had two sons, Ronald H. and Jeffrey A. Ellen was a mathematics and computer teacher at Deer Park High School from 1969 to 1990. A long-time resident of Madeira, OH. Ellen also lived in Venice, Florida, after her retirement. A bright, motivated, and gifted teacher, she competed in golf and bowling, and enjoyed a painting, sketching and travel, becoming an accomplished artist with her work adorning several banks, offices and other businesses. Ellen will be greatly missed by her husband, Richard Dorsey; sons and daughter-in-laws, Ron and Theresa Dorsey, and Jeff Dorsey and Latha Mannava; grandchildren, Ryan Dorsey and Natalie Dorsey; sister, Victoria Coatney; and niece, Caryn Coatney. A memorial service to celebrate Ellen's life will be held Friday June 30, 2017, and will benefit the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
