Regina Gardner FerrisAGE: 70 • Toms RiverRegina Gardner Ferris passed away peacefully on July 16, 2017. After a long and courageous 47 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Regina has finally found peace and rest.Regina was born on June 23, 1947 in Boonton, NJ, to Mary and Charles Gardner, Sr. She attended school at Mt. St. Dominic's Academy, where she participated in many school activities.Her lengthy participation in the Toms River Americans with Disabilities Act (A.D.A.) Committee and various other civic organizations enabled her to achieve her personal goal of promoting inclusion for people with all types of abilities. Her strong will and determination in dealing with her daily trials and obstacles were a glowing inspiration to all who knew her, especially her loving family.Regina was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Charles Gardner, Sr.She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert, of Toms River, a daughter, Jacqueline Murray and her husband, Guy, of Seaville, NJ, a son Todd and his wife, Stacy, of Brick, NJ, a son Matthew and his wife, Renee, of Madison, NJ and a son, Joshua, of Toms River.Regina cherished her five grandchildren: Daniel, Stephanie and Elizabeth Murray and Robert and Carter Ferris.Also, Regina is survived by her sister, Jennifer Gardner Walsh, of Sea Girt, NJ and her brother, Charles Gardner, Jr. of Englewood, FL.The family will receive friends Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 6-9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, July 21, 2017 at 9:30am at St. Justin RC Church, Toms River.
