August 18, 1924 - November 9, 2016Raymond L. McIntyre passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 09, 2016. He was born on August 18, 1924, in Lawton Oklahoma to James Edward McIntyre and Frances E. Noe. He was married to his wife of 18 years, Margie Ann Bowles.A member of the greatest generation, at the age of 16, he lied about his age so he could go to war. He entered the Army Air Corp as an enlisted soldier and was later promoted to officer. As an Air Force pilot, he flew a B-26 Marauder and served in both World Wat II and the Korean War.Life did not stop with his military retirement. Mr. McIntyre went on to become a man of many interests. Not only did he earn a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science and a Doctorate of Business Administration; he also held a license to practice law in California and served as a Sheriff and Private Investigator. He was an active and honored member of both the Freemasons and Alzafar Shriners.Along with his wife, he worshipped at the Windcrest United Methodist Church.He is survived by his wife, and the large family she bought with her when they married: Daughter Lynda Dennis and her husband Dale; grandchildren Marty Wampler and fiancée Ana Puente, Joy Moore and husband Jim, David Wampler and wife Yvette Braddock, Howard Teal and wife Helen; 12 great grandchildren and three great-great children.He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Emma Lou McIntyre.Services will be held at the Windcrest United Methodist Church, 8101 Midcrown Dr., on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the .
