Raymond G. Miller, age 96 of Bellingham, WA, died October 24, 2016 in Bellingham. He was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County, born on December 6, 1919 in Sumas to Charles and Ella (Nienaber) Miller. He worked at Georgia Pacific for 39 ½ years, retiring as supervisor. Ray was a member of the VFW, the Elks Club and Assumption Church. Ray volunteered for the Visitor's Center at the Ferry Terminal, the Bellingham Food Bank and the Community Meal at Assumption Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing and digging clams. He was kind, he had a warm heart, and his face lit up whenever he saw friends and family. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Helga, his granddaughter, Laura, three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Gloria Miller, grandson, Troy Thelen, great-granddaughter, Amanda (Jacob) Helde and their children Kayah'Laura and Rose, and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Thursday, October 27th from 11 AM - 1 PM. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Westford Funeral Home at 2 PM on Friday, October 28th.
