On November 12, 1938, am Angel was welcomed into this world in the form of Rachel Lee Williams. Rachel was born in Atlanta, GA to Mary and Kalvin Williams. Rachel was just the cutest baby and grew to be an amazing spirit to be around. Rachel loved school and the friends she made. In 1960, she met the love of her life, Leonard Mullins, and eventually gave birth to two wonderful boys (Donald and Mickey Mullins) and two beautiful girls (Sonja and Nakia Mullins). Rachel relocated to Detroit, MI with her family while pregnant with her baby girl, Nakia, and made Detroit her new home. Rachel lit up many hearts and invoked so many smiles in the lives she touched. She was known for her many sayings and jokes, and let us not leave out the great food! Nana Rachel, as many loved to call her, could throw down in a kitchen. Her hot water cornbread was to die for, and the bread pudding was divine. On December 20, 2019, Rachel was found unresponsive in her home in Detroit, and immediately rushed to the hospital. There she was stabilized momentarily. Rachel’s final words were, I finally got my healing. She truly is healed on the other side, and we know she’s resting well. Rachel succeeded all of her siblings, and her mother and father. Rachel leaves behind her four lovely children Donald, Mickey, Sonja, and Nakia; nine grandchildren Saborris Hamiel, Marceles Jones, Montez Sutton, Robert Sutton, Angel Sutton, Michael Stone, Ricardo Sutton, Malachi Sutton, and Hezekiah Sutton; soon to be great-grandchild Melody or Malcolm Stone, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Rachel Mullins is truly missed, but never forgotten.
You can to the family or in memory of Rachel Mullins.
