R. Ray BohnYorkR. Ray Bohn, of York, passed away Sunday January 31, 2016 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.The son of Raymond and Hazel Bohn of Chambersburg, he was born on June 17, 1922. After graduation from Chambersburg High School, Ray enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in the South Pacific Islands during World War II. He was always quietly proud to be part of the generation that saved our freedom.After serving in the Corps, he attended and graduated from Gettysburg College with highest honors. During this time he married "his girl" from high school; Josephine E. (Sheely) Bohn. Jo and Ray were married for almost 70 years.Ray was president and associated with The Physicians Supply Co. of York for many years. He retired in 2007 to care for Jo during her serious illness. To his great sorrow, she preceded him in death in 2010.Ray is survived by his daughter Susan R. Wolford and her husband Gene, son Robert C. and his wife Mary, grandchildren Matthew Plush, Christa Christian and Clinton Bohn, and great grandson Carson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Jo Plush.At his request, private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York, PA 17403 with Pastor Michael Carletti officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.In lieu of flowers, do something nice for someone today.
