The 23rd of May 1924 Preston Hilton Albury was born in Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera, Bahama Islands. To the proud parents of Joseph Johnson Albury and Albury he had Emma Bethell (born Albury).

Mr. Albury was an administrator, engineer, trade unionist and politician. His early education occurred on Eleuthera before he went off to study diesel and auto engineering at the Central Mediterranean Training Centre in Benevento, Italy in 1944. He was later transferred to the Royal Engineers in Egypt where he was responsible for the transportation of supplies.

When he returned to the Bahamas he was Ground Engineer at Oakes Field for British South American Airways from 1948-1953 and later managed Consolidation Construction Company until 1960.

During the 1950s Albury became politically active and joined the Progressive Liberal Party in the late 1950s. He ran as a candidate for the party in the 1962 election in his native Eleuthera but was defeated. The following general election in 1967 he won a seat and became a member of parliament.

In January 1971 he became the chairman of the Bahamas Electricity Corporation a position he held until 1st February 1974. After leaving the civil service he became president and chief operating officer of General Acceptance Corporation Eleuthera Limited whose parent company was Juan Trippe the founder of Pan Am Airlines. GAC Eleuthera Limited was responsible for the development of the Cape Eleuthera Resort. In 1978 he became chairman of the Bahamas Racing Commission.

On 9th March 1980, Albury died at the age of 56. Posthumously, a high school in Rock Sound, Eleuthera was named after him.
