Phyllis J. GreenplateJacobusPhyllis J. (Gladfelter) Greenplate, 90, died Saturday January 14, 2017 at the York Hospital. She was the loving wife of Reginald N. "Reggie" Greenplate, with whom she celebrated a 68th wedding anniversary this past March 27th.A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Greenmount United Methodist Church, 4242 Greenmount Church Road, Glen Rock, with her pastor the Rev. Martin Bovee, officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be in the Jefferson cemetery. There will be no viewing. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is assisting with the arrangements.Phyllis was born on April 6, 1926 in Codorus Township, a daughter of the late Ralph D. and Gertrude (Sterner) Gladfelter.She was a member of Greenmount United Methodist Church, where she attended Sunday School, and the United Methodist Women's Mission Group. She was a devoted wife and mother, as well as a loving grandmother and great grandmother. Phyllis was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking for her family. In later years, she communicated over the phone with her friends and family often. She would check in and be sure they made it home safely and were doing well. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Nevin R. Greenplate and his wife, Sandy of Seven Valleys, and Joseph E. Greenplate and his wife, Carolyn of Glen Rock; three daughters, Rita M. Eveler and her husband, Stanley of Glen Rock, Reginia L. Markle and her husband, Randy of Jacobus, and Christine F. Haynes and her husband, David also of Jacobus; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.She is Predeceased by two infant sons; three brothers, Roy Gladfelter, Sterling Gladfelter and her twin brother Philip Glatfelter.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenmount United Methodist Women, 4242 Greenmount Church Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327.Condolences may be shared at
