Phillip Terrance Creel, Sr.Phillip Terrance Creel, Sr. passed away on March 29, 2017. He was 74 years old. Visitation will be at Ward Wilson Funeral Home in Dothan, AL on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 1-2 pm, followed by Funeral services at Memory Hill Cemetery.Coach Creel was born on March 29, 1943 in Dothan, AL. He was an All-American football player at Dothan High, and signed a scholarship with Auburn University, playing quarterback for the Tigers. He received his bachelor's degree from Auburn in Secondary Education in 1965. Phillip began his coaching career at Troy State University where he helped lead them to the NAIA National Championship in 1968. While at Troy, Phillip earned a master's degree in Education. He returned to Dothan High as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach. Later, Phillip accepted a position at Milton High School in Milton, FL, where he retired. Proceeded in death by his parents Eletous and Hazel Creel; Larry Creel (brother). He is survived by his wife, Judy, of 33 years; his sons, Terrance Creel of Dothan, AL, Keith (Reta) Creel of Dothan, AL, and Jonathan Creel of Los Alamos, NM; 4 grandchildren, Peyton, Jaci, Grayson, Taylor; his brother Ray Creel of Ludowici, GA; several nieces and nephews.
