PHILIP E. WEIGMANN , 92 FREEPORT - Philip E. Wiegmann, 92, of Freeport, died, Saturday, September 20, 2014 at FHN Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 28, 1922 in Freeport, the son of Charles and Blossom (Phillips) Wiegmann. Phillip worked at Micro Switch for 18 years and at the Freeport Jr. High School for 15 years. He married Doris McCarville on January 6, 1945 in Freeport. She died on February 26, 2013. Phillip was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include one son, John (Sue) Wiegmann of Freeport; four grandchildren, Terry (Corina) Wiegmann of Pearl City, David (JoAnne) Wiegmann of DeForest, WI, Robert (Becky) Hiester of Freeport and Angela Hiester of Tennessee; also nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; daughter, Janet Hiester; infant great-great-grandson; seven brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be Friday 11 a.m. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
