Peggy Murray Brisnikage 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at the Wellbrooke of Avon Rehabilitation Facility. Peggy Murray Brisnik was born on October 2, 1926 at St James Hospital, Hornell, New York. Her parents James and Dolores Murray moved from 12 Elm Street, Hornell to Indianapolis in 1928.She graduated from St Agnes Academy in 1944 and began working at the Indiana State Board of Health for the next 20 years. After retiring from the State Board of Health she worked consecutively at the Marion County Children's Guardian Home, administrative secretary for Marion County Judges John Christ and Steven Frank, and office manager for Able Bonding Company. Peggy completed her work career as a Marion County Deputy Bail Commissioner.On January 19, 1957 she married Anthony Joseph ("Frecks") Brisnik from Haughville. They remained together until his death September 16, 1999.She is preceded in death by her parents James and Dolores Murray, her brothers James and Robert Murray, her sisters Francis Berry, Dolores Welchons, and Maryann Stephens. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Horan of Austin, Texas and many nieces and nephews in California, Texas, Florida, New York, Kentucky, Maryland, Illinois and Indiana.Her expressed wish was there be no viewing, no service, and her ashes were to be scattered as were her husband's Anthony Brisnik in 1999.Memorial contributions may be made to the St Vincent De Paul Society, 1201 East Maryland Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 South Old State Road 37 is handling the arrangements and online condolences, photos and memories may be shared with family and friends at www.allencares.com.
