Paul R. RaverGlen RockPaul R. Raver, 99, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at York Hospital, following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Clara (Spiese) Raver.Mr. Raver was born on December 16, 1917 in Springfield Township and was the son of the late Clinton C. and Sarah C. (Stine) Raver.He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and had been employed as a automobile salesperson for most of his life, having worked with the former Richard's Chevrolet and Oldsmobile in New Freedom for over 10 years and prior to that with Strausbaugh Pontiac in Glen Rock for 24 years and had owned and operated Paul Raver Auto Sales in Seven Valleys for several years.Paul was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Glen Rock, the Shrewsbury Lodge #423 F&AM, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Harrisburg Consistory and the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403. He leaves a daughter, Barbara A. Metzler and her husband, Don of Glen Rock; two granddaughters, Staci Kapinos and her husband, Steve of Ashburn, VA, Whitney Krosse of Dallastown; six great-grandchildren, Darrian, Ashley and Ryann Kapinos, Lane, Reed and Bryn Krosse; nieces, Karin Roser and Mary Bovender; and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with the Rev. Philip Nace, officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Masonic Rites by Shrewsbury Lodge 423 will be held at 9:45 a.m. Interment with Military Rites by the York County Veteran Honor Guard will follow at St. Peter's Church Cemetery, Seven Valleys.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 27 Manchester St. Glen Rock, PA. 17327 or to the Visiting Nurse Association of Hanover/ Spring Grove, 440 N.
