Paul E. WarnerBrandon, MSPaul Edward Warner, 90, passed away Thurs. May 25, 2017 at Peachtree Assisted Living in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Sun. May 28, 2017 from 1:30pm-3:15pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 3:30pm on Sun. May 28, 2017 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial in the Brandon Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.Mr. Warner was a Calhoun County, MS native, born on Sept. 8, 1926 in Big Creek, MS. He was the son of the late Harry & Irene Warner. He has been a resident of Brandon, MS since 1974, where he was a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon, MS.Mr. Warner was a 1950 graduate and an avid fan of MSU, where he was an outstanding military ROTC student and a member of the Scabbard and Blade Military Honor Society. He was an overseas veteran of World War II where he participated in the Campaign for Central Europe. Mr. Warner was also an overseas veteran of the Korean War. During his 37 plus years of military service, Mr. Warner attained the rank of Full Colonel. After serving for 7 years as Colonel, he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in October, 1982. General Warner was very proud of the opportunities he had in serving in the various assignment whether on active duty, as a reservist, or on full time duty with the Mississippi Army National Guard. His last assignment was as Operations Officer with the 213th Medical Brigade. He was also the Assistant State Maintenance Officer. Previously he served 8 years as Commander of the 223rd Engineer Battalion located in West Point, MS where he and his family lived for 10 years.Mr. Warner is survived by his three children, Paula Taylor (Curtis "Mike"), Pam Floyd (Fred) and Steve Warner (Amy); two sisters, Bobbye Bouzek and Grace Donovan; seven grandchildren, Michelle Taylor Miller (Matt), Whitney Warner, Marlee Warner, Brayden Warner, Rhodes Warner, Everett Floyd (Ashley) and Lauren Floyd Landers (Brandon) and five great grandchildren, Madisen, Max and Micah Miller, Landon Floyd and Reagan Landers. Mr. Warner was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Allen Warner on Jan. 26, 2008 and three sisters, Mary Alice Hollingsworth, Odein Gibbs and Margaret Caldwell.The family wishes to thank the staff of Peachtree Assisted Living for their special love and care! In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the , Miss. Division Inc. at 1380 Livingston Lane Jackson, MS 39213.
