WILLIAMSBURG - Patricia Smith Cain, of Williamsburg died October 24, 2016 at Sentara Regional Medical Center, Williamsburg Virginia. Patricia was born on February 1, 1933 in Mason City, Iowa to Leo Francis, and Mary Bernadette Smith. She was a graduate of Clark College and the University of New Mexico where she earned a master's degree in economics. On August 18, 1959 she married Thomas P Cain, who preceded her in death. Patricia enjoyed extensive world travel, politics, the stock market, her Irish Catholic heritage, Notre Dame Football, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Sean P Cain and his wife Nannette, Williamsburg VA, and her daughter, Mary Colleen Chipper, Blackstone, VA-each retired US Air Force Lieutenant Colonels; four grandchildren (Michael Cain, Lance Corporal John Chipper, USMC, Catherine Cain, and Brian Chipper), and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers B. James Smith, Joseph L Smith, Michael B Smith, Thomas J Smith, John R Smith, and sister, Mary Anne Lawlis. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am, November 26 at St Olaf Catholic Church followed by interment at St Bede's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia's name can be made to the St Olaf Church building fund.
