PAMELA KASINER Obituary
Feb 09, 1948 - Jan 12, 2016
This obituary is administered by:
Pamela Anne Kasiner was born on February 9, 1948, in Hollywood, California. The daughter of Warner Brothers Studio Illustrator & original Merrie Melodies illustrator Leslie Larson and homemaker and mother, Blanche Larson. Pamela spent her childhood in Bakersfield with her 3 sisters after her family moved to the central valley in 1955. A beautiful, fiery and artistic redhead, Pamela was also athletically inclined with a competitive spirit and enjoyed playing softball as an accurate pitcher as well as being a gifted bowler with a 300 game under her belt. She also was an avid skier and the loved spending her holidays at Mammoth Mountain skiing and playing in the snow with her children at what would become a second home to the family - Mammoth Lakes.Pamela, herself, inherited the artistic gene from her father and carried that throughout her life with and to her own children. Mother to three precocious and mischievous children, Kenneth, Holly and Lee, she supported each of them uniquely and carried a secret pride of the rebellious, unfearful and competitive spirits she nurtured them to become. She was known for her hand-sewn clothes and costumes and mini floats created for the Kiddie Parade in the local Harvest Festival. She took pride in her over-the-top creations of which her children were the center. She became the feared competitor of the Delano Harvest Holidays Kiddie Parade in all categories for her True masterpieces! A dreamer herself, she was also known to create elaborate houses for her children to dream and play in out of nothing more than refrigerator boxes, an Exacto knife, and a permanent marker. She taught her children the value of seeing things not for what they were - but for what they could be.Pamela met the love of her life, Jim Kasiner, as a teenager & after 25 years and another chance meeting, she married him extending her lovely family with the addition of daughter Jinger. After a short time living on their property in Eufaula, Oklahoma, they made their way back to California. She and Jim spent many happy days camping at the central coast, barbecuing around the pool of their home, and spending time with the loves of their lives - their grandchildren: Chelsi Pascua, Grace Hyatt, Sam Hyatt, Jake and Mila Sutalo, and Howard Hyatt. With too many wonderful memories of this remarkable woman who was the glue of her family, a few paragraphs would never be able to articulate the impact this beautiful and spirited matriarch had in their lives and will continue to have in their lives. There aren't enough words and to put it simply, she will be missed beyond any words. She is preceded in her death by her parents, Leslie and Blanche Larson and survived by her husband of 24 years, Jim Kasiner; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Bolden; her sisters, Phyliss Geortz, Patsy Garzoli, and Joyce Sisemore; her children, Kenny and wife Yolanda, Holly and partner Jeff, Lee and wife Dana, Jinger and husband Vide, and grandchildren Chelsi, Grace, Sam, Jake, Mila and Howard; and many nieces and nephews and beloved friends for whom she was often considered their "second mom". She is also survived by her two fur babies, Java and Milo who are currently still waiting for their mom to come home.Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Bakersfield National Cemetery, 30338 E Bear Mountain Blvd, Arvin, CA 93203 at 2PM. The family asks in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the St Jude's Research Children's Hospital to end cancer in Pamela's name.
