Octaviano "Toby" Esquibel, 92, a longtime resident of Las Vegas passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014, in Las Vegas.He was born on Oct. 20, 1921, in San Geronimo to the late Fedelin Esquibel and Favianita Crespin.He enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to music.A Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows church.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lalo Esquibel; sisters, Tomasita Montoya and Victoriana Montoya; and nephew, David Martinez.He is survived by his son, Raymond Esquibel of Pueblo, Colo.; daughters, Marie Hodges, Ruth Johnston, Irene Basta and husband, John, all of Pueblo, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Luisa E. Chacon and husband, Margarito of Albuquerque; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Rosary services will be held at 7:30 p.m. today (Friday) at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant.
