Norman Marvin Hill IIIFayetteville, NCMr. Norman "Sonny" Marvin Hill III, 74, of Fayetteville, NC died Tuesday, December 27, 2016.He was born on March 6, 1942 in Durham, NC to Norman M Hill Jr. and Alice Hill (née Lentz). Norman worked in several industries prior to his retirement. He worked in a NC textile mill while studying to be a graphic designer. He owned TV stores in West Palm Beach, Florida and West Memphis, Arkansas in the late 60's and early 70's. He subsequently worked almost twenty years with Mack Trucks Inc. as a service manager and warranty supervisor in Memphis, TN and Atlanta, GA. Later he owned an appliance repair business in Memphis, TN and did home repair in the late 90's and early 2000's. Upon moving to North Carolina he worked at Cape Center Dental of Fayetteville, NC as a dental equipment manager from 2006 -2012. Norman had many interests and hobbies in his life. In his teens and early twenty's he loved racing cars and building /flying model airplanes. In later years he was a ham radio and CB enthusiast, played golf and was an avid fishing and hunting companion. In Fayetteville, he enjoyed gardening and cooking.He is survived by his father, Norman M Hill Jr., as well as his sister, Karen Sparks, (Ray) and children Norman ("Chip") M Hill IV (Lisa), Kimberly Beckwith, Andrew Hill (Lara), James Hill, five grandchildren and a niece. He also leaves behind his dear friend of many decades, Donna Brown Katz (née Davis) of Fayetteville, NC.Norman Hill was a man of integrity with a pride in craftsmanship and his ability to fix most mechanical problems. He was a trustworthy and loyal friend who helped others when he could and he loved the Lord. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
