Norma LouiseBengiat1941 - 2016Norma Louise Bengiat passed away on December 23, 2016 at the age of 75. She was born on October 19th, 1941 in The Bronx, New York to Louis and Leah (Gubernikoff) Zasloff. There she graduated with a Masters Degree and went on to teach in the New York public school system. When she moved to Oregon she became an Artist in Residence with Lane Arts Council working in Oregon as well as Alaska. She also displayed her masks and puppets in fine art galleries throughout Oregon. Norma will always be well known for her curiosity, passion for life, and kindness to all. She loved animals, art, books, health food, non- profits, photography, and video production. Norma was constantly hiking Mt. Pisgah and was able to travel the world with her daughter. When she retired she joined Lane County Search and Rescue, not only to help others, but because she loved to use her body and mind. Most importantly, one could not ask for a more devoted, hard working, generous and loving mother. She will be loved and missed always. Norma is survived by her children all of Eugene; her son Jason Bengiat, daughter Sarah Micheli, son-in-law Joshua Micheli, grandson Jonah Micheli, brother David Zasloff from Los Angeles, CA, and cousin (whom they called each other sister) Judy Feinberg from West Palm Beach, FL. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring. Arrangements by Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Eugene.
