Norma Clarke, aged 72, died peacefully on May 29, 2018, at home in her condo at Jamaica Resort Residence, after a brief struggle with cancer. Ella was born March 8, 1942, in St.Catherine Jamaica the daughter of Michael J. Campbell and Betty H. Edwards.
Ella thoroughly enjoyed athletics and the outdoors. She learned to swim at the early age of 4and began riding horses at 6. She won numerous swim and diving awards in high school and university. She continued to enjoy swimming and horseback riding throughout her life. Ella graduated from Walnut Grove High School and attended UWI University, where she was an Alpha Gamma Omega.
n 1972, Norma married the love of her life Dr. Harold M. Clarke, and upon his completion of Medical School, they migrated to a small farm in Farmington, Missouri. Mr. Clarke started a family practice in Farmington, which he operated for 50 years. Ella worked at the practice as a secretary and office assistant for more than 20 years.
In addition to raising their three children, Kerryann Clarke, Julian Clarke and Nicola Clarke, she also taught swim lessons and volunteered at the local community pool. She owned several horses over the years, including American Saddlebred and Pinto horses. Ella and he children enjoyed riding the horse in Farmington Ella was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, the Variety Club of Missouri and an active volunteer.
