Norbert C. Matoska1927 - 2014Norbert C. Matoska, 86, of Kenosha passed away on Tuesday April 29, 2014, at Aurora Medical center Kenosha surrounded by his loving family.Norbert was born on June 9, 1927, in Kenosha, residing in the same house he was born in. He was the son of the late Peter and Teckla (Naurecievich) Matoska. He married Carolyn Walsh on June 2, 1956, in Dover, Wis. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha, attending St. Casimirs and Washington Jr. High.Norbert was a City of Kenosha firefighter for 29 years, retiring as an apparatus operator. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, St. Casimirs, Professional Firefighter Local 414, St. Judes League, Kenosha Firefighters Association, Moose Lodge, and Ducks Unlimited. Norbert enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, and picking mushrooms, but most of all spending time with family & friends especially his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Matoska of Kenosha; Matthew (Sue) Matoska of Pleasant Prairie, Daniel Matoska of Pleasant Prairie, Susan (Stephen) Gralinski of Racine; his sisters, Ellie (Tony) Saliture of Janesville, Terry Hudson of Somers; and grandchildren, Andrew, Thomas, and Gryphon. Norbert was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester, Lawrence, Irwin and sisters, Dillie, Aggie, and Alice.A visitation will be held on Friday May 2, 2014 at Kenosha Funeral Services from 4-6 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 6 p.m. A funeral procession will leave Kenosha Funeral Services at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, to St. Casimir Cemetery.
