Brey, Norbert GNorbert G. Brey, age 92, a resident at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the center. He was born on August 6, 1925 in the town of Kossuth, son of the late Michael and Anne (Gerl) Brey. Norbert attended St. James Catholic School in Cooperstown, WI. He served in the United States Army in the Phillippines as a MP from 1946 until 1947. On November 16, 1963 he married Clara Anderson in Hammond, IN. Norbert was employed with Manitowoc Engineering for many years retiring in 1993. He was a member of various military organizations and enjoyed his reunions with his Army buddies. Norbert liked spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, woodworking and fixing things around the house. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Jim (Jodi) Brey, Manitowoc, Roger Brey, Manitowoc; two grandchildren: Eric Brey, Manitowoc, Elizabeth Brey, Manitowoc; one sister: Laverne Wertel, Green Bay; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Virginia Brey, Manitowoc, Carolyn Anderson, Manitowoc, Richard Van Duren, Port Huron, MI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister-in-law: Wilbert Brey, Edwin (Florence) Brey; four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law: John Wertel, John Anderson, Carl Anderson, Charolette Conard, Leroy (Lucille) Yindra, Ruth Van Duren.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Jim Wilson. Military Rites will be accorded by AMVET Post 99 with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum in the town of Kossuth. The Family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home (928 South 14th Steet), Manitowoc. The visitation will continue Thursday morning, September 28, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
