Nikole Jean CavendishVIRGINIA: Nikole Jean Cavendish, age 54 of Roanoke, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 30, 2016. She was born on September 13, 1961, in Zanesville, Ohio to Richard A. Tigner and Beulah Mae Wright. Nikole was a Christian woman who loved her Lord and Savior; she was baptized into Gods Kingdom at Good Sheperd Lutheran Church in Roanoke, Virginia. She loved her dogs, Tootsie and Gunner. On October 15, 1980, she married Gordon (Don) F. Cavendish Jr., her high school sweetheart, who survives. Along with her husband and mother, Beulah, Nikole is survived by her two sons, Gordon (Amanda) F. Cavendish III of Boones Mill, VA and Scott (Courtney) J. Cavendish of Roanoke, VA.; three grandchildren, Gordon F. Cavendish IV, Anthonee Charles Cavendish, and Troy LePere; one brother, Charles (Anita) Wright of Zanesville, OH and their two children, Connor Wright and Taylor Robbins. Nikole is preceded in death by her father, Richard A. Tigner his wife Betty, her father-in-law Gordon (Buddy) F. Cavendish, Sr., her husbands brother-in-law Dansel B. Snyder of Norwich, and her American Eskimo puppy Blizzie. Nikole, then known as Betty Jean, graduated from West Muskingum High School in 1980 and later attended the Beau Monde School of Beauty in Illinois and St. Cloud Technical College in Minnesota where she studied accounting and business management. Aside from being a tireless and loving Mother she managed her family household during her husband's 20 year career in the US Air Force. During this time she pursued a career in restaurant management becoming the General Manager of Ponderosa Steak House in Grand Forks, ND. Nikole was a staunch advocate for battered and sexually assaulted women and was a volunteer woman's counselor for the House of Ruth in Dothan, AL. She continued in this endeavor through online support groups and volunteer work until her untimely death.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 6:00 pm at Given-Dawson Funeral Home in Coshocton with Pastor Jason Cole of East Forty Church of Christ, Norwich officiating.
