Nicholas "Nick" Wood47, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 16, 2017. He was born on January 11, 1970, in Beech Grove to Charles and Karen (Ponsler) Wood.  Nick was 1988 graduate of Southport High School and a 1992 graduate of the University of Indianapolis. Nick was married to Julia "Julie" Van Laningham on October 11, 1997, in Indianapolis. He was a self-employed software developer, contracting with the Indiana State Department of Health and several other companies. Nick attended Southport Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially Daddy-Daughter days with Sophie. Nick also enjoyed playing poker with his buddies who called him "Nico".Nick is survived by his wife Julie Wood; daughter Sophia Wood; mother Karen Wood; brother Robert (Alisa) Wood; mother-in-law Alice Watts; sister-in-laws Tammy Wood and Kristen Suding and five nephews. He is preceded in passing by his father and brother William Wood.Calling for Nick will be Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center and Wednesday from Noon until the hour of service at the Church. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Southport Presbyterian Church.
