She was born on October 2, 1931 in Anding, Mississippi to Carrie Bell Hatchett Spires Watts and Arthur Spires, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe L. Chapman, Sr; and brothers: Arthur Spires Jr. and Benjamin 'Bud' Spires. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Gwendolyn M. Chapman; a son, Joe L. (Ann) Chapman II; a granddaughter, Brittany Chapman; a grandson, Joe L. (Kharen) Chapman III; one sister, Ann E. Watts; brothers, Benjamin (Linda) Watts Jr., Obeary (Lorena) Spires Sr. and Herbert (Mickey) Spires Sr. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 10:00 to 11 :00 at Cherry Grove MB Church.
