Mrs. Nancye Enlow, 95, a former Bardstown resident, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013, at Sunrise Manor in Hodgenville. She was the former Nancye Sympson, born on Nov. 9, 1917 in Cox's Creek. She retired from Ireland Army Hospital in Fort Knox in 1983, where she worked in administration and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church more than 60 years, where she taught Sunday School and directed Christmas pageants. She was a gifted china painter and won numerous awards, was a Wilkins' homemaker, member of Eastern Star and in 1993 was elected LaRue County Mother of the Year. She is preceded in death by her first husband, J.H. Collins in 1938; her second husband, of 55 years, Anthony Vernon Enlow; her son, Larry Collins; her daughter Nancye Gallant; her parents, Reuben and Pauline Roby Sympson; and her brother, Seibert Sympson.She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Terry) Rock of Apopka, Fla., and Ada (Larry) Christy of Franklin; two sons, Darryl (Mary) Enlow of Magnolia, and Dr. Craig (Karen) Enlow of Danville; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Collins; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Her other family survivors are her sister-in-law, Virginia Sympson and several nieces and nephews. The funeral is 2 p.m. April 15, 2013, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. Reverend Dylan Mays will officiate. Visitation is 10 a.m. until time of service Monday, April 15. Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
