Nancy White PrescottKnown for her elegance and grace, Nancy passed away just the same on October 17, 2016 with her family by her side at the age of 88.Nancy was born on February 5, 1928 in Seattle to Ruth and Frank I. White. Growing up in the Mt. Baker neighborhood, she later graduated from Franklin High School. She attended the University of Washington where she received a B.A. in 1949. She was an active member and longtime alumnae of Delta Delta Delta sorority.Nancy met D. Clinton Prescott Jr. while attending UW and the couple married in 1951. They were blessed to share 63 years together. In 1954, Nancy and Clint moved to Tacoma. Nancy was very involved in their three children's activities, from being a room mother to putting on the annual school Halloween party to chaperoning graduation parties. She was a member of Junior League and was an advisor for the Tri Delta chapter at UPS. She enjoyed her bridge club ladies and being in a dance club with Clint.In 1971, the family moved to Mercer Island. She took pride in giving back and was a volunteer at Swedish Hospital for over 20 years where she made some dear friendships. She also enjoyed helping with Clint's Mercer Island Rotary Club and their events. Above all, Nancy loved spending time with her family and grandchildren along with her and Clint's Dalmatians. The family spent many summers in the San Juan's and on Vashon Island boating and walking on the beach. She could walk on the beach for hours collecting sea glass and agates.Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother, Houston (Barbara, nephew Ross and his family) and her wonderful husband, Clint, who passed in 2014. She is survived by her sons, Clint (Susanne), Tracy (Dr. Janet Barrall) and her daughter, Marley, as well as her grandchildren, Erin and Greg (Alisha) who loved her cooking.She will truly be missed. At her request, no service will be held but contributions can be made to Seattle Children's Hospital, Swedish Hospital Volunteer Program and Mercer Island Rotary Club.
