Hofkes, NancyNancy Ann Hofkes (Thorpe), age 81, died peacefully on September 8, 2017 with loved ones by her side. She was born on May 8, 1936 to the late Clarence and Marcellaine (Amerling) Thorpe in Stanley, Wisconsin. She married Richard Hofkes on March 2, 1957 and they spent 45 wonderful years together. Nancy enjoyed sewing, knitting, baking, golfing, traveling, musicals, singing in the church choir and spending time with her family. She left her handprint on the hearts of her four children; Tamara (Robert) Hackbart, Appleton, Penny (Allan) Jamir, De Pere, Sandra Krupski, De Pere, and Mark (Lillian) Hofkes, Seattle, WA. She deeply loved and often cared for her grandchildren: Katie Hackbart, Lindsay Krupski, Jenna Krupski, Matthew Hofkes and Natalie Hofkes.In addition to her children and grandchildren, Nancy is survived by her sisters; Rita Page, St. Cloud, MN, Mary Ciolkosz, Manitowoc, WI, sister in law, Beverly Couture, Ralston, NE and several nieces and nephews.Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dick and her brother, Jim Thorpe.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, 1307 Lourdes Avenue, De Pere, WI 54115 with Rev. Benny Jacob, O.Praem officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 8:30am until 10:15am at the church prior to the service. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family.
