Nancy B. Jones a long time resident of Chillicothe was born September 6, 1938 and departed this life on Tuesday, March 1st, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nina Major Crouch. Nancy was better known as “Grandma” or “Grandma Jones.” She attended Chillicothe High School in Chillicothe. During her life she worked for various companies and retired from Champion International Paper Mill in Chillicothe, MO where she worked for over 15 years. Nancy was a member of Sycamore Temple COGIC where she was a faithful member until her health declined.

She was on the mothersboard, former Adult Choir member, Tribe #5 Captain, and Acting Security for the Church. Mother Jones had a love for the children and the homeless. She enjoyed cooking and would at times cook meals, box them up and take them down and give them out to the homeless. She was a great supporter of her children and grandchildren and she loved her church family.

Left to cherish her memory are Patrick Jones Jr., her loving husband of 62 years; son Jeffery Jones of Richmond VA; daughters Romona Baird, and Tonya Jones; sons Rodney Jones, Demetrius A. Jones all of Chillicothe and Darvin Jones of Spartanburg, SC; brothers Johnny Crouch and Willie Crouch both of Chillicothe; sisters Betty Salters and Juanita Jackson of Chillicothe; Dollie Childs (Luther) of Philadelphia, PA; dedicated and loving brother-in-law Bishop James O’Hannon of Chillicothe; 16 Grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Nancy Jones will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2019 at 2:30PM at Lindley Funerlal Home in Chillicothe with Superintendent Stan Saunders, Pastor of Cornerstone Church, Officiating. Visitation will be 3 hours prior at 11:30 A.M.
