UPTHEGROVE, Muriel S. 84, of Loganville, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at her home. Muriel was born on March 12, 1932 in Eastman, GA to John Henry and Ruth Giddens Sheffield. She was a member of Oak road Presbyterian Church for many years and was very active when she was able. Muriel was very artistic and loved to bake, garden and craft. She was also an avid reader, to the extent that she could read several different books at the same time. Mrs. Upthegrove was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Clarence Upthegrove and her son Michael Upthegrove. Survivors include her daughter Susan Parker and husband Frank of Monroe, daughter-in-law Debbi Upthegrove of Loganville, sister Nancy Walker of Virginia, brothers Paul, Robert and David Sheffield, all of Virginia, five grandchildren, Justin, Allison, Ashley, Bryan and Shawn and eight great grandchildren and one on the way.
