Simon, Mitchell JohnMitchell John Simon, 69, died peacefully at his home after a long struggle with cancer on Monday, August 28, 2017 in Whitewater, WI. He was born on January 8, 1948, in Sturgeon Bay, WI, to John and Luverne Simon. He attended undergraduate and law school at Marquette University, where he met the love of his life Deidre Fraulini. They were married August 14, 1971. After he graduated from law school, they moved to Whitewater where he practiced law for 44 years. Mitch was a respected member of the Whitewater community who prided himself on his meticulous work and dedication to his clients. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his brother and family at their hunting shack up north. He loved Christmas and birthdays at home with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Mitch never pretended to be anything but who he was. He will be dearly missed. Mitch is survived by his wife Deidre Simon, his daughter Carrie Simon (Adam Schabow) of Madison, his son Christopher (Sara) Simon of Stoughton, his granddaughters Jocelyn and Nora Simon, and his brother Calvin (Deb) Simon of Sturgeon Bay. Mitch was extremely appreciative of all of the correspondence, well wishes, and support extended by many throughout his illness. Special thanks to the staff of Rainbow Hospice for their loving care and kindness during his final weeks.The memorial service will take place on September 9, 2017 at 11am at Nitardy Funeral Home in Whitewater WI. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00am until the time of the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mitch's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Free To Breathe, a local organization dedicated to improving lung cancer survival.
