SCHWEITZER, Mildred Sweeney 95, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at Westover Retirement Community. She was born on February 11, 1921 to the late Michael and Anna Appelman Sweeney. She was a member of St. Augustine Church, Charter Member of Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W., D.C.C.W. of St. Augustine, Kentucky Colonel, past member of Red Hatters Club, and a member of N.A.R.F.E. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Schweitzer, Jr. whom she married Sept. 18, 1941. She is survived by her son, C. Edward (Jan) Schweitzer of Oxford, OH; one grandson, Michael (Susan) Schweitzer; and three great grandchildren, John, Riley, and Emma Schweitzer. She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike Sweeney and Fred Sweeney; and one sister, Catherine Martin. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am on Tuesday at St. Augustine Church. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 pm on Monday at Moore & Parker Funeral Home in Augusta with Rosary at 5 pm. Memorials may be made to St. Augustine Church. Condolences may be sent to mooreandparkerfh.com
