Mildred Irene Williams, 90, of Ellensburg, died peacefully Friday, September 7, 2007, in Spokane at Sacred Heart Hospital of natural causes. She was born on January 5, 1917 to Edward F. and Anna W. (Larson) Lee in Highmore, South Dakota, where she was raised and educated with her 10 siblings. She married Willard Arthur Williams in Miller, South Dakota on June 16, 1937 and the couple moved to Ellensburg, Washington, that same year. She and her husband owned and operated their own dairy farm until 1975 when they started raising beef cattle until they retired in 1981. She enjoyed snowmobiling and CB rallies with her husband, crafts, gardening, traveling twice to Europe to visit her extended Swedish family, touring U.S. historical sites and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Mildred was a sweet, kind little lady who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, Jerry Williams and his wife, Judy, of Bellevue; her daughter, Wanda Lewis and her husband, Marc, of Spokane; her sisters, Merle Thompson of Thorp and Phyllis Cid of Buena Park, CA. Six grandchildren, Todd Williams and his wife, Laura, of Bothell; Monique Bailey and husband, Mark, of Maple Valley; Heather Smith and husband, Jeremy, of Prairie Village, KA; Rachel Goll and husband Cory; Lindsay Perez and husband Omar; and Ryan Brookhart, all of Spokane; Amy and David George of Snoqualmie, and Jennifer Lewis of Washington, DC. Six great-grandchildren; Madden and Connor Williams; Austin and Kaylee Goll; Conor and Griffin George; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; five brothers, Theodore, Norman, Kenneth, Carl, Herbert and Maynard Lee; and two sisters, Elsie Lee and Julia Meyers. Chapel services will be Wednesday, September 12, 2007, 4:00 p.m. at the Thornhill Valley Funeral Chapel, 1400 S. Pines, Spokane, WA, with Stephen Brown officiating. Internment will be Thursday, September 13, 2007, 3:00 p.m. in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Ellensburg, Washington, with family and friends gathering immediately after at the Ellensburg Church of Christ, 408 S. Maple St, in Ellensburg. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006 or a charity of donor's choice.
