RACINE - Michael Scott LeRoy, 57, passed away at his residence on Saturday, February 9, 2013. He was born on October 19, 1955 to Donald LeRoy and Ruth (nee: Kornacki) Benson. Mike was united in marriage to his best friend, Jill Thomsen on September 3, 1977 at Emmaus Lutheran Church. He was a graduate of J.I. Case High School and attended U.W. Parkside. Mike is best known for his incredible sense of humor and his tremendous love of all children. Mike loved music, especially Rock & Roll, fishing, sports, and more sports, “Go Pack”. Mike is survived by his loving wife Jill; son, Nathan (Kristyn) LeRoy of Evansville; daughter, Maggie (Mike Hutchins) LeRoy of Madison; brother, Ron (Chuck Tyler) Benson; sister, Ruthann Mork of Racine; mother and father in law, Alfred and Janet Thomsen. He is further survived by brothers in law, sisters in law, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Benson; step father, Ron Benson; brother, Don Robert LeRoy and grandparents. Memorial services will be held at Sturino Funeral home on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 7 p.m. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Those wishing to give a memorial in celebration of Mike’s life may donate to his family, Trinity Lutheran Church or the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center Special Thank you to Trinity Lutheran Church for all of their prayers during Mike’s illness, especially the Sunday school children whose many cards always made him smile and Aurora Healthcare, Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, for their loving care and concern.
