Michael K. McKinnonSUGAR GROVE: Michael K. McKinnon, 56, of Sugar Grove passed away on May 10th, 2017 at his residence. Mike was born on January 13th, 1961 in Columbus, Georgia to Gerald A. and Birta McKinnon Sr. Mike retired from the Air National Guard, after serving for 35 years. He had started his career as a Crew Chief on the A7 and had retired as a KC 135 Air Technician (Boom Operator) working out of the Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base since 1989. Mike loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He always looked forward to his trips to Burr Oak. Mike will always be remembered for being a selfless, loving man.Mike is survived by his wife, Bobbi (Barbara) McKinnon; mother, Birta Dell McKinnon children, Kurtis (Tiffany) Roberts, Megan (Luke) Thimmes, Summer McKinnon, Aliyah McKinnon, and Keith Roberts; grandchildren, Colten and Weston Thimmes, Adalynn Roberts, Rylee Roberts, Isaiah Roberts, and Kurt Roberts; siblings, Kathy (Charles) McKinnon Horne, Gary McKinnon, Gerald (Val) McKinnon Jr., Cherie Artrip, and John (Heather) McKinnon; as well as many other loving family members.He was preceded in death by his father.A celebration of life is to be held on Saturday, May 13th, 2017 at 1PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor John K. Beckett officiating. Friends will be received from 11AM until the start of the service. Military honors will be taking place. Dignity cremation is to take place through HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME.
