SIDNEY — Michael J. Kinsella, 89, of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at 3:35 a.m. at Lane Park of Sidney.
He was born on July 15, 1927, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Edward M. and Lunita "Sally" (Kenton) Kinsella. On April 7, 1950, he married Phyllis A. Hatcher, who preceded him in death Nov. 15, 2001.
He is survived by six children, James S. (Anita) Kinsella, of Sidney, Sherry (Otto) Jones, of Monticello, Kentucky, Susan (Daniel) Osborne, of London, Kentucky, Paddy (Michael) Dunn, of Sidney, Jacqueline (Randy) Coate, of Troy, and Kelly (Mitchell) O'Leary, of Sidney; one brother, Harold Kinsella; 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael S. and Daniel J. Kinsella, and three brothers, William, Robert and John "Jack" Kinsella.
Mr. Kinsella was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran serving his country on the USS Tranquility. He retired as a supervisor of engineering from Monarch Machine after 37 years of service. He was a member of Sidney American Legion Post 217 and Holy Angels Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Amberger officiating. Burial, with full military honors by the American Legion, will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney.
