Michael Henry LacerreAGE: 59 • MatawanMichael Henry Lacerre, 59, of Matawan, passed away this week at home. He was born on May 6, 1958 to Albert and Edna Lacerre in Red Bank, NJ and was a lifelong resident of Matawan. He attended Matawan Regional High School, Brookdale Community College and Stevens Institute of Technology. He had many passions in life, his children, music, learning and cars… His strength and determination was absolutely amazing. He never let anything hold him back from enjoying life and achieving what he wanted, from building A&E Automotive with his son Chris, to making dean's list for electrical engineering in college. He overcame every obstacle that tried to stand in his way with ease and perseverance. He always held his head high no matter what the circumstance. He had a true warrior spirit. Along with raising his children, he raised and mentored many others as his own. He was adored by many and gave inspiration to everyone he came in contact with. He lived a very joyful life surrounded by all those he loved and cared for him. He could always put a smile on your face and was the life of the party. His generosity for others was incredible. His love for music was like no other. His all-time favorite thing to do was just crank out to music and drive with no destination in mind. His stories and personality will forever remain in our hearts along with the sound of his laughter. He was like no other person you would come across in a lifetime. He was a true legend. Michael is survived by his beloved children Jessica, Christopher, and Chloe, along with his daughter in law, Michelle, a brother, Richard, two sisters, June and Linda; and 8 grandchildren: Christian, Cailey, Anthony James, Autumn, Julie, Wesley, Ila, and Natalie, among many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many friends whom he considered family too numerous to list. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Dennis.
