Michael Devere Varney passed away on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at the Alpena Regional Medical Center. Mike was born on March 30, 1962 in Saginaw. He grew up in Oscoda and graduated from Oscoda High School.He has resided in both Tawas and Alpena. Mike is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dawn; his three loving children, Tabatha, Terra and Michael; his grandson, Cayden; his parents, Elaine and Bill Hasse and Harry and Debbie Varney; and five brothers and sisters, Harry, Billy, Melissa, Debbie and Diane. Mike will be cremated by Hunters Funeral Home in Alpena. There will not be a service per his request. The family will celebrate his life at a later date.Mike loved spending time with his family telling stories and joking. He loved working with his hands, keeping busy and being outdoors. His bright smile and contagious laugh will be greatly missed by all.
